Protest’s paper shouldn’t be a surprise

Newspapers out of the Occupy Wall Street protest shouldn’t be a surprise. Colonial America knew the power of the printed word on sheets of paper, too. Distribution online gets ideas out fast, but we’ve been trained to read what comes to us on paper with a different eye than what comes across our hand-helds. Nice design and a static platform (newsprint) can hold our attention and remain accessible for decades. How nice the revolutionaries today want a public record of what they protest preserved in a relatively cheap, portable and familiar format.
