Not so Friendly In Friendship, Maine

The Rockland Free Press recently published a legal notice to “all persons who ever attended school” in certain districts of the towns of Friendship, Union, Waldoboro, Warren and Washington, Maine, and who are more than 26 years old to come and get their special education records if they wanted them.  These records “will be destroyed …after August 1.”  I imagine there is a need to clean the schools’ file cabinets, but what about all those special notes and keepsakes that turn up years later for sale on the web, or as fodder in presidential campaigns? Well, they will soon be toast.
